Anthony G. McMillon retired after over 26 years as the Local Area Network Engineer with the Council of the District of Columbia. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Central Florida, a Master of Arts in International Relations from the University of Florida, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer and Information Science from the University of Maryland Global Campus.
After graduating from the University of Florida, Mr. McMillon served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Sierra Leone from January 1982 until March 1984. Through Mitochondrial DNA analysis, Mr. McMillon's maternal ancestry was determined to have originated with the Mende ethnic group of Sierra Leone.
Mr. McMillon is a Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT), certified Project Management Professional (PMP), a member of the Project Management Institute, and a Lean Six-Sigma Green Belt. His volunteer activities include acting as General Secretary of the Koya Progressive Association, an organization founded by Sierra Leoneans in the US to promote and support the development of Koya Chiefdom in Sierra Leone and as a board member for Friends of Sierra Leone, where he currently serves on their Projects Committee, which reviews and approves funding for small projects in community development, health and education in Sierra Leone
